AUSTIN, TX – Traditional Yiddish music ensemble Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour plays Patika coffee and wine bar this Thursday night, November 5th. The show will feature live music, acoustic, without amplification. Admission is free with purchase, and the concert will be from 8pm-10pm.
Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour’s Klayne Kapelye will be playing as a trio at Patika Coffee and Wine Bar on S. Lamar in Austin Texas this Wednesday from 8-10pm. All the hits from the 80’s and 90’s – the 1880’s & 1890’s, that is, from the Payl of settlement in Eastern Europe! Serving fruitless cosmopolitans since 2010.
AUSTIN, TX – Folkloric Eastern European Jewish music is alive in central Texas. Traditional music ensemble Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour will be playing all the hits o the 80’s & 90’s – the 1880’s & 90’s – from the Pale of settlement. The show takes place at South Austin’s new-ish hot gathering spot RADIO coffee & beer, on Manchaca just north of Ben White. The concert goes from 9-11pm, and admission is free with purchase.
Local Traditional Klezmer music ensemble Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour will be playing at RADIO Coffee & Beer August 14th. at the South Austin venue that is a hub for creatives and small arms officianados. The Kapelye (group) for this show will be led by klezmer clarinetist Ben Saffer, and features special guest Don Wheeda (of Mark Rubin’s Rubinchicks Yiddisher Ensemble) on accordion! The show runs 9pm to 11pm, is open to all ages, and admission is free.
Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour and the Austin Klezmer Bund Orchestra will host a traditional Klezmer Jam Wednesday July 29th, from 8-10pm at the Butterfly bar in Austin Texas. We will be playing mostly from Klezmer for Everyone volumes 1 & 2, by Sherry Mayrent. The Jam is open to intermediate through professional players, and will be open to acoustic instrument only.
Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour and Austiner Klezmer Bund are excited to present a 2-day workshop with Sherry Mayrent of the Mayrent Institute for Yiddish Culture. Mazel Tov Kocktail Hour has been learning from and playing with Sherry for several years and now want to share her passion for and wealth of knowledge in klezmer music with the Austin community. There will be several opportunities to learn with Sherry. Listed below are times and possible class themes. For a really powerful learning experience, plan to come to all classes. Content will vary according to the people there. Classes are open to anyone – all ages, all instruments or no instruments, all playing levels.
